Foster Parent, Mom Life, Review

Princess Plate…

I always said I would be the kind of mom where you put dinner out and they eat it or go hungry.  Enter in a foster kid who was grossly underweight and has a strong personality.  Even the best intentions go out the window!

I have a picky eater. I mean REALLY picky eater.  I found a magical plate that has diminished the dinner table fight.  This plate has small compartments with a surprise dessert at the end.

I prepare her plate and tell her she can stop at any time but she will not get the dessert at the end.  It has worked very well.

Full plate with a treat midway.  She is trying a new food.  Chicken Cordon Blue.   Green beans are not her favorite but she knows right after she gets dessert!

Ready….GO!!!

Dinner is done!

Some advice is to only put one new food on the plate at a time mixed in with foods child is familiar with.  Also, remember their stomachs are much smaller and do not need a full plate.  Praise goes a long way.  Stick to your guns!

There are a lot of styles for this plate.  We bought our little girl the fairy themed one but check out what they have to offer here https://amzn.to/2JLnkgV

Oh, and if you like my flip-flop tablecloth you can get that here…simply click on the picture!   I love all things flip-flops!
