Mom Life

A weekend away…

My husband and I had a wedding to go to on Friday.  We decided to make a minimoon out of it.  A nice hotel for the whole weekend.  My good friend Karen took Little Girl for us.  In my mind, this is what I was expecting…

But in reality…

Let’s face it.  Parenting is hard!  You are on 24/7!

But I still got to spend 48 hours alone with my best friend!  That makes me happy!

How do you spend time with your significant other?

  1. haha, so true, what parent doesn’t give up the chance to have few hours extra sleep. Forget the romance, at least you have each other.

  2. This is just so totally true. We haven’t had a night without our little one yet, but we would definitely be catching up on sleep! Not romantic but necessary. #TwinklyTuesday

  3. We all deserve a break every now and then… even if it is just to rest!

True story. Sounds like you have been there!

  4. Hi Tracy, that sounds about right and my children are all grown up. Quality time is quality time though even if you are sleeping. Sundays are the day I get to spend fun time with my other half, exploring the island with friends.

Thank you for linking up with #keepingitreal.

    xx

  5. Ha ha yes I can totally relate to this! In fact I’ve just come back from a weekend with my girlfriends! We loved having a lay in xx #livingarrows

It’s nice to get little time for yourself and your husband

I’m cracking up! My parents never had time away from us. In the old days, when you had a baby, they allowed you to stay in the hospital a few days. My mom said that was the only time she ever had a break! Even going on vac with the fam would be major preparations of packing, etc., as she would still need to do the cooking, etc. Not that easy, esp when you have five kids!

So true. I said to my husband when we went camping….it is the only “vacation” where you pack up your entire kitchen…move it into the woods and still do all the same chores but do it like they did in the olden days. Not so much a vacation! 🙂
