Think SMALL…

Think Small…

Can you see it? Just over the month of November is December. This means in a few days it is all-out Christmas. Ads, sales, and commercials all to get you to spend your money. Big companies with big budgets for ads. As we head into this holiday season I want to encourage you to think small.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am a huge Amazon shopper. I have boxes delivered to my house on a daily basis. However, for this holiday season, I am trying to shop locally and think small. I want to put my money in the pockets of local businesses as well as the local Boss Babes that run their own direct sales business. It’s always difficult for small businesses to compete with those larger companies that seem to get all of the sales.

We all know those gals that plug their wares daily on Facebook. We get invites to online parties. It could be anything from candles to nail wraps. Some click just to be kind. Some accept but never shop. Behind each of these posts, there is a mom, wife, sister, daughter, or even a husband trying to make a living.

I want to encourage all of you to keep your money local. Try to avoid the big box stores. If you have no use for the items Boss Babes are selling then at least share their post. Perhaps someone on your friend’s list may put in an order.

I don’t have much money so I always have to shop very carefully. I also dont have a car so most of my shopping is done online, so I’ll try to find places in town.

I have an extremely tight budget, so I’ve never been able to spend a lot. But I’ve always supported local, and buy a few things here and there throughout the year to save for Christmas. I’m also crafty, so I make a lot of things, including ornaments. I’m lucky that my granddaughter, who’s 6, has realized that there are chldren that have little, and she is very empathetic for the homeless. She wants to give some of her toys to the toy drive. Buy mittens and hats for the shelter.

  4. Great idea! It’s great that you are influencing people to think about the people and families behind small businesses. I need to get out around my community to see what small businesses I could purchase from this holiday.

It’s awesome to support local businesses when you can. I do most of my shopping online. I’m not very creative or I would make Christmas gifts
