Arctic Enema
My weekend consisted of working at the Tough Mudder Race held at Gunstock Ski Mountain. This is a 10-mile race with over 20 obstacles on the courses. I was on the Med Pro Medical Team. Trust me when I say they need a medical staff! Some of the obstacles can wreck your body!
My station for this race was the Arctic Enema. It consisted of a large bin of waist-deep water that was packed with ice. Participants had to jump in and swim under 2 fences then hop out. On a hot day, the Enema would be tough but it was a balmy 49 degrees out at the base of the mountain.
A little chilly for a swim in ice!
We had an ice truck backed up to our station and we kept tossing in crushed ice. There must have been over 300 pounds of ice when the race started!
Our obstacle was ready for action!
That lovely shine you see in the pictures….that’s the ice!
Feel free to enjoy their pain! This is just a small glimpse of our time there!
Would this be something you would enjoy?
To find out more about the Tough Mudder here is the race link!
The Mudder is great for team building as you can not go through it alone. It is designed to test your strength and help you push past your fears. You are never alone on the course! I saw people of all shapes, sizes, and walks of life! Well done Mudders…well done!
Yah, I don’t think I would ever want to do that. Way too cold for me. When we lived in Alaska they had the Polar Plunge where they would jump in a lake in winter. I’m perfectly happy staying dry and warm.
I have seen the polar plunge where they chop out some ice. NOPE!! Hard pass!
Tough Mudder looks like so much fun, however I can’t even run to the end of the road without being out of breath so this is totally out of my league! Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!
As someone who just a day ago was laying in hospital , greatly appreciate all the med help you can get , on side note this looks like a lot of fun for me , outdoor , running and cold weather , perfect.
I’d rather watch than participate thank you very much. Though it’s great to see people enjoying the experience! #BloggerclubUk
At least I got paid to watch thier misery!
Amazing , always had a wish to visit Alaska
sounds like my worst nightmare. i won’t even swim in a river or the sea on a warm sunny day. I’m more of a ‘why cycle when the cars working’ kind of girl….and if I’m running you’d better be able to run faster because it means there’s a lion chasing me!
congratulations to all those mad fools who can and do participate
#dreamteam
You made me laugh. I did a post about Why run and one of those was being chased by a killer with a knife. A knife you may be able to get away. A gun don’t bother. Why die tired! Ha ha.
I know lots of people who have done the Tough Mudder but I think it is my idea of hell….each to their own lol! Thanks for linking up to #coolmumclub x
I think Tough Mudder would be a bit much for me. I struggled with the Monster Race. My oldest daughter did Mini Mudder once though. I filmed the poor little darling and put it on YouTube!
#ThatFridayLinky
Wow what an event, I must confess I would prefer to watch lol X #pocolo
I actually think I would love it, but would be a bit slow as I am not super fit! Thank you so much for linking up #ABloggingGoodTime
There were people of ALL sizes!
That sounds crazy but weirdly more appealing to me than a straight run. I might investigate 🙂
I did the bubble run and that was the most adventurous one I did.
No, no, no! Definitely a spectator. That ice bath sounds horrific lol. Thanks for sharing and linking up #twinklytuesday
oh my! that looks so tough. Thanks for being with on the #DreamTeam this week
Eeek! This looks hard! I think I’d cry if I had to jump into a pool of ice water! Hahaha. #blogcrush
Oh gosh that looks tough! Like you said, it’s a bit chilly for me!
Thanks for linking to #pocolo
Oh my goodness! No, I wouldn’t like to do that, it looks horrible, lol! X
#AdventureCalling
I’ve done a couple of Tough Mudder events here in the UK and really like them. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that these events wouldn’t exist without the support and medical staff and volunteers who make them happen. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling.
They take great care of their staff!
Part of me wants to give it a go, and part of me is terrified! I have enough trouble running on the flat, without throwing in obstacles called things like Artic enema! I’m sure it was a great experience, thanks for sharing with us #AdventureCalling
Wow definitely not for me , don’t like cold and snow that much
