A flower in a jar…

This week is teacher appreciation week. I have the privilege of teaching in a small Christian school. I have a class of 4th graders that are amazing. Little minds that will become leaders, lawyers, mechanics, moms, dads, nurses, police officers…who knows? I have taught for many years and each year holds its own challenges and blessings. This year is no different. Our school is going through changes. Growing pains if you will. Some days that filters down and it is hard to keep it out of the classroom. These kiddos deserve nothing less than my best. After a bumpy staff meeting, I walk into my classroom and on my desk is a flower. One simple flower with a note taped to the recycled vase. The note said, “Thank you for being the bright spot in my day.” This warmed my heart so much! So no matter how rugged your day is or how bumpy life gets…remember to be the bright spot in someone’s day!

  3. I’ve recently went to a training at work which also covered the importance of giving feedback, both constructive and positive. Since then I’ve forced myself to do it regularly and you wouldn’t believe how my life changed there.
Beside doing it at work, it’s just important to acknowledge people in your life: your partner, your kids, your colleagues, your friends, … anyone. It’s a small gesture that will make you feel better and will change the other person’s day, like this post proves. #CoolMumClub

  4. That’s so lovely. What I like about things like this is that they often come along just when you need them as well. Like the universe is giving you a hug

  5. What a wonderful bit of encouragement you received. So very sweet.

Indeed, may we all show the Lord shining brightly through us.

Oh how adorable! I would love someone to bring me a flower in a jar πŸ˜‰

This week, my six year old was upset because her fairies hadn’t left her a gift at the fairy door, after she had delivered them lots of drawings and letters. The next day I left her a tiny jar of forget me nots, and it made her day. So adorable πŸ˜‰

This is so sweet! If we are more aware of the people around us, who help us in many ways, small acts of kindness can be a meaningful way to let them know they are appreciated!
