Today is one of those days. The kind of day where you roll down the windows. Spring is in the air. The ground smells warm. The snow is only in spots…ahhhh! Just for a moment, I had a high school flashback. Instead of driving the mom van with a car seat in the back, I was in my 1982 Honda Civic that was a brown bucket of rust. On the radio was the hit song from Top Gun…”playing with the boys.” Big hair. Jelly shoes. Cuffed jeans. Windows down with that crappy radio full blast blaring “Playing With The Boys” by Kenny Loggins. The only care was trying to pass algebra and somehow find enough change in the couch to put gas in the brown bucket of rust to cruise the streets with your best gal pals.
Don’t get me wrong…I love my life and I love where I am at but once in a while, it is nice to just go back and relive a moment.
Do you have a song that brings you back?

I have so may. Photographs and Memories by Jim Croce always makes me think of my brothers friend from Puerto Rico, who bought me the 45 of this song as a gift.
Oh yes, so many. Celine Dion’s ‘Think Twice’ reminds me of a school skiing trip to Italy where we all took turns to listen to it on a cassette tape on the coach! Thank you for linking up with #Blogstravaganza 🙂
Yes many songs remind me of different times lovely post Thank you for linking to #Thatfridaylinky please come back next week
I have so many songs that bring memories back #Blogstravaganza
I find this happening to me more and more lately – the whole lot comes back to me with the song, even the smell of the memory! #KCACOLS
Anything by Sublime brings me back to high school and summer!

One song that always takes me back, and I mean way back now is Rain of Shine by Five Star. Oh, I still that song #kcacols
Love this. Anything by Ash- teenage angst!! #fortheloveBLOG
There are plenty of songs that evoke memories for me, too many to mention! I don’t really listen to music much (no time!) and have no idea what is in the charts at the moment: 90s and early 2000s are my favourite eras #blogstravaganza
Take my breath away by Berlin was the song that was number one when I was born! (sorry if i made you feel old eek!) Top gun is a classic movie and one I used to watch over and over with my dad!
Thanks for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!
Plenty of songs that take me back but no where good! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next time

JELLY SHOES!! I get flashbacks to Take That and the Spice Girls. Thanks for linking up to #fortheloveofBLOG x
I’ve got tons and now I’m thinking I’ve gone blank. But I do love the power of music in taking you back (for good or bad!) in a few bars. #kcacols
Oh yes, I definitely have songs that bring memories back… so many of them! And I agree, it can be a really good feeling to once in a while loose yourself in memories, for a moment or two. It often also makes me think of what conversations I might be having with some of the people of my past, if I met them today… ?x

I can’t think of a song off the top of my head, but when I hear one of those, it is amazing how it can transport you back decades like you are right there! I’ve had that happen with scents, too – one was the scent of lady slippers (the flower, not smelly old slippers). I’m transported to being a child walking in the woods following a stream, I can head the sounds of the gurgling brook and birds, and smell the scent of ferns as I’m stepping on them, and then come upon a lady slipper, so pretty and special, that the fragrance wafts towards me beckoning me. I’m glad I never thought I should cut it and take it home. I’ve had that transporting experience with my fav oldies, too.
We have lady slippers in the back of my woods. It is by a stream too. These flowers are protected in my state as they are so rare and lovely!
80’s rock is the best . Any “cheese” rock song from that period brings back memories
