I met you on a Saturday
Sweet Little Girl…in less than 3 weeks time we will be standing before the judge and Mommy and Daddy will FINALLY stand with you and become a legal forever family. It will be our GOTCHA DAY! As I look back to when we first met.
I met you on a Saturday. The Guardian brought you to my house. You were so tiny and small. You had great big eyes that took in everything. I held you on my hip and I knew I was meant to be your mommy. We went into the house and just watched you. I was not sure what you liked to eat. I was not sure how well you could walk. You toddled around and kept looking back smiling at me. My heart was full.
You did not come with instructions. I had to figure you out on my own. You loved spaghetti…not to sure of peas. You LOVED chocolate milk but then again who wouldn’t? Sometimes you liked carrots and other times you found it fun to feed them to the dog. You loved to paint with chocolate pudding and most often times found it funny that it leads to a bath after. Your first word was banana. You said it nanna. I knew what you meant and gladly gave it to you. We battled your first ear infection. We even battled the Chicken Pox.
It has not been an easy journey. There was a time when we thought we lost you. But God in his great goodness brought you back to us. For us. For us to love, for us to cherish, for us to raise. We will share this life together. We may not always have an easy road as you are going to grow and try new things. New things to help you, new things that may bring heartache and new things that may bring joy.
No matter what Little Girl we will be here for you. As a 7-year-old you have the world in front of you and your mommy and daddy behind you. Spread your wings Little Girl and grow and love and laugh! I am so glad I met you on a Saturday!
